PANJIM: A section of the government servants who hoped to celebrate Diwali with additional cash that comes as Diwali bonus were disappointed on Diwali eve as after checking their salary account they found that the bonus had not been released.
These included the Goa Police personnel who until Monday evening had not received the bonus. According to sources at the Police Headquarters, the bonus will be released on Friday, which defeats the purpose of giving bonus to the employees for the festival.
Superintendent of Police, Police Headquarters, Vishram Borkar was not aware that the bonus had not been released to the staff. “I don’t know whether it has been released or not. I don’t know the reason if it has not been released,” he said.
Inspector General of Police, Sunil Garg who is out of station was also not aware of this and asked that the DIG be contacted.
However, when contacted, DIG V Renganathan said he would inquire from the SP Headquarters, as he was also not aware of the fact.
