MARGAO: Two days after the Areal blast, police have managed to identify the parties who were buying wild boar meat from deceased Paplu Mungund, but the men-in-uniform are yet to track down the source of explosives used in manufacturing of the crude bombs.
Based on call details from the cell phone of the deceased, police have interrogated the parties, who were regular buyers of wild boar meat from the deceased. During interrogations, these parties are believed to have admitted that though they were regular meat purchasers from the deceased, they feigned ignorance on the source from where the explosives were procured by the deceased.
When contacted, Maina-Curtorim Police station in-charge PI Gurudas Kadam informed that efforts are on to track down suppliers of the explosives to the deceased. “We are in the process of verifying call details of the deceased person. The process is on and we expected to obtain some clues during the investigations”, PI Kadam said.
Replying to a question, PI Kadam said the explosive articles recovered from the site of the bomb blast will be despatched for forensic examination.
In the meantime, the body of Paplu Mulgund was handed over to his mother after the post-mortem examination.
