MARGAO: Colva Police in a joint operation conducted a raid on one illegal casino and arrested 15 persons engaged in gambling activities. Police said during the raid 15 persons engaged in the gambling activities were arrested and gambling material was seized. Later, they were released on bail with one local surety and Rs 10,000.
Based on a complaint, the Colva Police have registered the offence under Section 3 and 4 of PG Act.
Police teams conducted a gambling raid at Varca in a hotel and caught the 15 persons involved in gambling activities in closed premises playing with the help of chips of different colours having value of Rs 6.9 lakh. Police have seized gambling articles under panchanama.
PSI Ajit Velip is the complainant in the case and his complaint has been recorded. According to Colva Police, the accused arrested are from Gujarat and Goa. Further investigation is in progress.
