PANJIM: Goa Police has recorded 5,576 cases of violation since the enforcement of nationwide lockdown orders came into effect from March 22.
As per the information as on Monday, April 6, out of the total, highest 5,462 violations are reported in South Goa while the remaining 114 are in North.
Interestingly, the violations have jumped to more than 1,000 in 48 hours, between April 4 and 6. As per the data of April 4, the total violations were recorded at 4,196. Likewise, 326 individuals defying the lockdown orders have been arrested while 214 First Information Reports are registered at various police stations and 140 vehicles seized, as on date.
Maximum 169 persons are arrested in the North District with 157 in the South.
As many as 10,000 police personnel including reserve force are deployed across the State and the borders to ensure complete enforcement of the order.
The department has also collected Rs 9, 66, 950 fines from the violators.
