Fingerprint expert requisitioned; cellphone taken by dacoits may help in tracking

MARGAO: Police have recovered from the SGPDA market complex the Grande i10 car stolen by the dacoits in Davorlim, even as the men-in-uniform are pinning hopes on the cell phone belonging to the Rodrigues family to achieve a breakthrough in the case.
As the brand new Grande i10 car was found abandoned in the SGPDA market here this morning, Maina Curtorim police officers and personnel rushed to the market to take possession of the vehicle.  The Suzuki Access scooter, however, has not been traced yet. A fingerprint expert was also requisitioned to assist the police. 
While fleeing away after committing the dacoity, the accused had assured the Rodrigues family that they will find their car abandoned within a radius of six kilometres.  
Meanwhile, sources in the know said that the police are keeping a track on the dacoits with the help of the cell phone belonging to the Rodrigues family which was taken away by the dacoits on Saturday morning..
When contacted, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Naik said that the police are working on vital clues collected by the investigating team in the last 24 hours. “We have found the abandoned car and efforts are on to get to the accused persons”, Mohan said.
