PANJIM: Panjim Police on Sunday released an enlarged photo of accused involved in Bank of Maharashtra ATM robbery attempt procured through the CCTV footage. The police have informed that they are examining all the CCTV footages on the exit routes.
Addressing the media, Superintendent of Police (North) Chandana Chowdhury said, “The incident happened between October 26-27 night. I would like to appreciate duty officer of the police station as she went to the scene of crime and hospital. That time we could not record the statement of the guard because the victim was in the hospital. Accordingly, we contacted the bank manager but due to certain reasons he could not come to the police station to record his statement.”
“The duty officer kept on calling him and told him that it is a serious offence and we need to register the case since it was the responsibility of bank manager to give the footage. On October 28, the bank manager came with the video footage and we took cognizance and the case was registered. Hammer and face mask were seized. We have carried forward with the investigation,” Chowdhury added.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered under Sections 394, 307, 511, read with 34 of the IPC.
