Police still unable to ground Kingfley

Accused in Nigerian murder still on the run; Previous enmity ruled out as motive for murder

PANJIM: Pernem Police on Tuesday dispatched search teams outside Goa to hunt for the main accused in the Nigerian murder case at Arambol.
Police said that the inquest panchanama of the deceased, Prince Ekene Agbo, was conducted at Goa Medical College, Bambolim while the post-mortem is slated for Wednesday.
The main accused in the case, Kingfley, a Nigerian is alleged to have killed his fellowman Agbo on Saturday and is on the run.
Police are investigating the motive behind the attack. Police sources said that previous enmity between Kingfley and Agbo and two others present at the crime site cannot be the reason for the attack as they hardly knew each other.
According to sources the main accused and the victim were passing by the open space in the presence of two other Nigerians who Agbo greeted, but not the accused, which may have sparked the argument and in a fit of anger Kingfley may have stabbed Agbo.
Godwin, a Nigerian, who has been arrested was staying in Mumbai and had come down to Goa four days before the incident. Godwin has been remanded in police custody for six days.
Police so far have not located his place of residence in Goa and also have not recovered the original passport. Pernem PI Sandesh Chodankar said that during the investigations a Nigerian has sent police a picture of the copy of the passport via social media and police have verified it with the FRRO and found it to be genuine. Police are yet to recover the visa. Police sources said the deceased had arrived in Goa in 2013 and further verification of his stay in Goa is under investigation.
