PONDA: Curti-Khandepar Village Panchayat Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar on Friday submitted a memorandum to Ponda Police Inspector Vijay Kumar Chodankar urging to conduct tenant verification of migrants living in rented rooms in the panchayat’s jurisdiction and to control crime rate by keeping an eye on them.
In the memorandum, Naved stated that gathering of migrants at Antrujnagar and other places are causing nuisance to the people. Locals are worried over the house thefts and chain snatching incidents and also unknown persons staying in rented premises.
Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch Wilma Pereira, Panchas Babu Chari, Bhika Kerkar and Neelkanth Naik after submitting the memorandum discussed various the issues with the PI.
