PANJIM: Goa Police are waiting for home study reports of four of the five rescued flesh trade victims from their counterparts to create a passage for their repatriation.
Five girls from Mizoram, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh and Goa were rescued during a raid at Cascade de Spa in Miramar on February 2 when the sex racket was allegedly underway.
The girls presently lodged at Protective Home, Merces were reportedly forced into the illicit activity since they joined in September 2013.
Police sources said they had sent written communiqués to its police and NGO counterparts in the three states seeking details of the victims including financial position of their respective families. A home study of the Goan victim is being carried out by the local police station.
“We have sought an elaborate home study of the girls hailing from Mizoram, Kolkata and Andhra Pradesh and a local police station here. Once the reports arrive, these will be submitted to sub divisional magistrate following which a decision about their repatriation will be taken,” a senior police officer stated.
Sources said the girls were recruited on a monthly salary of Rs 10-15,000 but they would barely get the promised amount. More so, each client was being charged anywhere between Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 for sexual activity.
“The traffickers kept the girls under their control. They would pay less than half the monthly salary saying the remaining amount was being deposited to be sent to their families. The girls would not complain because their accommodation, food and transport were taken care of by the kingpins,” the officer divulged.
The joint raid of the high-profile prostitution racket, disguised as spa was conducted by women police station and north district police. Four persons Riyazddin Ahmed (23), from Delhi and Ganesh Pulreddy (33) from Andhra Pradesh, both employed as workers; Nagaland-native Vimechelli Medom (23) working as Manager and a bouncer from Mumbai Mohan Kumar Sau alias Suresh Naik were arrested under Immoral (Traffic) Prevention Act. The police have failed to give updates about their remand or bail.
