PANJIM: The Cyber Crime Cell has registered an FIR under section 67 of the IT Act against unidentified miscreants taking suo-motu cognisance of the ‘Nude Party’ poster going viral on the social media.
“We are verifying the contact number mentioned on the poster. Our teams are on the job,” said Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Kumar Singh, while declining to divulge further details of the probe. The mischievous poster that claimed the ‘Nude Party’ will be held at Pernem at an undisclosed date and would have the attendance of 10-15 foreigners and more than 10 Indian girls.
Earlier, during a press conference, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, claimed that the police have tracked down the person who allegedly advertised the private party and that the police will soon arrest him. “Goa will not allow any such events,” he said.
Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar too opined that strict action will be initiated against the mischievous elements for tarnishing Goa’s image.
