PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday announced that a politician from Goa was on the Dubai flight on which a 67-year-old lady tested positive, in Bangalore. “The politician will be quarantined, I do not want to name him,” he said.
However, former tourism minister Francisco (Mickky) Pacheco claimed that the BJP did not want him around during the polls and hence he was being quarantined.
“This is political vendetta. I will not go to quarantine because there is no reason for it. They do not want me to campaign against the BJP candidates in the Zilla Panchayat elections,” Pacheco said.
When Pacheco was contacted for a comment, he confirmed that he was onboard the same flight which left Dubai on March 8 and reached Goa on March 9 enroute Bengaluru, but said that there was no one seated in the four rows of seats near him.
Sources said three teams of the Health Department had visited Pacheco at his home but he refused to cooperate.
