PONDA: The politicians in Ponda took advantage of the Diwali festival to create upcoming Assembly elections atmosphere across the town displaying greetings on the posters and banners with party symbols.
The politicians displayed their posters and banners of Diwali greetings in nook and corner of the town on electric poles, roadside trees and walls.
All posters of the rival parties nudged for visibility at prime junctions of the town. Senior politician and Ponda MLA Ravi Naik too displayed photo and Diwali greetings to people but has not shown his party symbols on his posters and banners.
His son Ritesh Naik, who joined BJP, has shown symbol of lotus along with senior BJP leaders photos on his posters.
Congress worker Rajesh Verenkar also displayed his photo with party symbol on the posters and banners. MGP leader Dr Ketan Bhatijar too displayed his photo wishing Diwali greetings along with photo of his party leader Sudin Dhavalikar. AAP leader Adv Surel Tilve also displayed his photo.
All these politicians however managed to convey message to voters that they are expected to contest upcoming Assembly elections from Ponda Constituency.
