PANJIM: After facing a series of debacles in various elections, including the recent polls held in four States where the Sonia Gandhi-led party had its hold for years, the Congress on Thursday said that the party seriously needs to introspect on the reasons for the poor performance and fix the accountability for the election failure.
Addressing media persons in the party head office, All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi said the Congress was now focusing on winning back the people’s confidence by trying to convince them about what the Congress can offer rather than just pointing to the failures of the Narendra Modi-led government.
“With continuous election debacle, I don’t think Congress has weakened. But yes, we seriously need to introspect on the reasons for the poor performance.”
