CUNCOLIM: The Zilla Panchayat elections were peaceful in Guirdolim and Fatorpa constituencies with no untoward incident reported.
Morning witnessed a low voter turnout but voting picked up momentum in the evening.
However, at some booths especially in Morpilla and Fatorpa, the voters turned out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. It is pertinent to note that the Congress has not fielded its candidate in Fatorpa but has extended support to Independent Malu Velip. No Congress member was present at any of the booths in Fatorpa.
