VASCO: A special meeting to elect the new chairperson and vice-chairperson along with the oath taking ceremony of councillors of Mormugao Municipal Council was postponed as two newly elected councillors were tested COVID positive.
As per the information available, the notice was issued by the Director of Urban Development Department stating that the special meeting to be held on May 10, in the municipality building to elect new chairperson and vice chairperson had to be postponed after two newly elected councillors were tested positive for COVID infection. Further, the next date for this special meeting is yet to be confirmed.
It may be recalled that four Margao councillors-elect had also tested COVID positive.
