PONDA: The Assistant District Education Inspector (ADEI) at Ponda has been facing the wrath of the parents of children studying in various primary schools in Usgao, since the start of the academic year.
Since June, the parents of children studying in three schools have agitated and confronted the ADEI over various difficulties faced by their wards at their schools.
The agitation started at the Davshirem Government School where the parents protested against the hardship faced by their children due incomplete repair works on the school building. Since the roofs were not repaired on time, water was seeping through the same during rains causing much hardship to the students.
It was followed by an agitation at Nanus government primary school, where parents protested against the lack of sufficient number of teachers. The parents warned that if a teacher is not posted at the school immediately, their children would boycott classes. They also staged a protest at the ADEI office in Ponda, on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, it was the turn of Barazan parents: On learning that a teacher from the local school has been transferred to Nanus primary school, the parents rushed to Ponda and confronted the ADEI over the transfer.
The teacher from Barazan school was reportedly transferred to Nanus to meet the demands of the parents there. After the transfer, the Barazan school is reportedly left with a single teacher for 67 students.
