Ponda BJP unit lauds CM for sacking Sudin, Deepak

PONDA: The Ponda unit of BJP has lauded Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for sacking Sudin Dhavalikar and Deepak Dhavalikar from the Cabinet – a long pending demand of the local unit.

The local unit also said that Ponda MGP MLA Lavoo Mamaledar should resign as chairman of Rajiv Kala Mandir and Handicraft Department or meet the same fate as two of his party colleagues.
Stating that it is well prepared to contest the Ponda assembly seat, the local BJP unit challenged Mamaledar to win the seat this time without the support of BJP.
Municipal Councillor Sunil Desai said that five years ago BJP workers strived hard to get Mamaledar elected and since then instead of carrying out development works, he simply wasted his five years by levelling allegations and giving step motherly treatment to BJP workers visiting him for their works.
He said that the local unit had already submitted a memorandum to top party leaders suggesting that the BJP contest the Ponda seat whether there is an alliance or not.
Yashwant Khedekar, who had contested election from Ponda in the past as BJP candidate, predicted that except for Marcaim, MGP would lose the election in all other constituencies.
Sandeep Khandeparkar, who has been recommended for Ponda BJP seat, said that the BJP has a strong organisational set up, as such the party can win many seats and form the government independently. However, he said, the MGP has no such organisational set up.
He informed that there would be a Vijay Sankalp rally in Ponda at Savitri Hall Curti, on December 17 at 6.30 pm. The rally will be attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and other leaders.
