Ponda civic deputy chief voted out

Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Deputy Chairperson Vincent Paul Fernandes was ousted on Monday in a no-confidence motion by 7-0 votes.
Seven of the 13 councillors attended the meet to vote on the no-confidence motion that was filed last week.
Five Councillors, Sanjay Naik, Venkatesh Naik, Shailendra Shinkre, Dinkar Mundye and Diksha Naik had initially submitted the no-confidence motion against Ferandnes.
Two other councillors, Radhika Naik and Vandana Jog, also supported the motion along with the five members.
Fernandes was elected as deputy chairperson of PMC in July 2009.
