Ponda civic polls: samiti declares candidates

Assuring people of Ponda that they will force the candidates supported by them to resign if found guilty in any corruption case, Ponda Vikas Samiti (PVS) declared 13 candidates for Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) election on May 12.

BORIM: Assuring people of Ponda that they will force the candidates supported by them to resign if found guilty in any corruption case, Ponda Vikas Samiti (PVS) declared 13 candidates for Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) election on May 12.

Addressing media, PVS President Ram Kunkolienkar claimed that PVS is non-political organization, but to give clean and transparent administration, they have decided to choose some good candidates. PVS also released its manifesto.

When asked how they can claim their organisation as non-political, as they have selected candidates to contest the PMC election, Kunkolienkar reiterated that it’s a non-political organisation and for the sake of Ponda city, they leaped into selection process.

“We don’t have political strength, but we believe in people’ support and they will surely help PVS,” he added.

The selected candidates are Sanjay Naik (Ward 1), Saharsha Naik (Ward 2), Yatish Sawkar (Ward 3), Roy Naik (Ward 4), Lalan Naik (Ward 5), Damodar Naik (Ward 6), Dilip Naik (Ward 7), Nilesh Subrai (Ward 9), Kishore Naik (Ward 10), Geeta Sirsat (Ward 11), Francis Fernando (Ward 12), Subhash Sirsat (Ward 13) and Arti Mundye (Ward 14). PVS is yet to finalise candidate from Ward 8.
