PONDA: The Ponda Block Congress (PBC) has condemned the State Assembly’s House Committee report that has indicted former home minister Ravi Naik and his son, Roy, in the infamous drug nexus case.
“We condemn the House Committee report on the drug nexus as we feel it is biased,” said PBC President John Pereira.
The house committee, headed by MLA Mickky Pacheco, had recently submitted the 96-page report to the State government and has also indicted senior police officers.
Addressing a news conference in the city on Wednesday, the PBC termed the house committee report as a “political vendetta” against Ravi Naik.
The PBC have raised questions over the authenticity of the report, as two of the five members on the house committee members did not endorse the report.
“It is interesting to note that the person who is heading the House Committee has several criminal cases against him and this is nothing but political revenge. Naik is an upright politician and will never ever support drug business.”
