PONDA: The Ponda Forest Department officials rescued a 10-feet long crocodile that was dangerously moving in the OPA Khandepar Forest area, near a locality, on Friday.
The locals after spotting the crocodile informed about it to the Forest Department. A forest team was sent to the spot to rescue the animal. Later, the crocodile was released at a safe place. The team comprised of Deepak Bethkikar, Akshay Gawas, Sandesh Gasti, Durganand Narvekar, Kiran Salgaonkar, Sunil Maldar, Prajot Naik, Hanumant Dessai, Ali Sahab, Dipa Redkar, Devu Shetkar, Sachin Sawant, Rama Dergunkar and Akshay Gawas.
Meanwhile, the Ponda Fire Station personnel team led By Sushil Morajkar rescued one cow that was trapped in a trench at Curti.
