Ponda Lions Club comes to the rescue of Vanarmare Tribes

Provides ration to around 20 families of the tribe currently residing at Bhutkhamb-Querim and Nirankal-Bethora

PONDA: After Herald Highlighting the plight of Vanarmare Tribes seeking help for their survival during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ponda City Lions Club of Ponda took initiative and provided ration to around 20 families of the tribe currently residing at Bhutkhamb-Querim and Nirankal-Bethora.

It may be recalled last week Herald had highlighted the plight of Vanarmare Tribes, who were finding difficult to earn a livelihood at Bhutkhamb-Querim, who had come in search of earning livelihood. 

The nomad Vanarmare Tribes are residing in the jungles of Nirankal, Bethora. The Lions Club visited the families of the tribe and gave them sufficient quantity of essential commodities such as rice, onions, potatoes, oil, sugar, tea powder and other life essential commodities that will provide them some relief during the pandemic time. 

Ponda Lions Club members chaired by Kiran Naik, Mahesh Gaytonde, Sunil Kesarkar, Anand Neverkar, Sadguru Govekar, Diwakar Shinkre took initiative in providing relief to the Vanarmare Tribes.
