Ponda local held for fraudulent sale of two plots

PONDA: Ponda Police arrested one Rama Cuncolienkar (75), a resident of Santa Cruz in Ponda for forging document, theft, criminal breach of trust, impersonation and cheating a woman to the tune of Rs 1 crore by selling her land. 
Based on complainant by Sunitha Kapileshwarkar, Ponda police registered the offence under Sections 406, 465, 468, 471, 419, 420, 379, read with Section 34 of IPC.
Police said that the accused sold two plots (one is of 3031 sq mts and the other 1596 sq mtrs) of the victim to his own daughter Sonal Kamat (40), a resident of Bicholim and his sister Sunanda Dharwadkar from Santa Cruz, Ponda. Police also registered offence against these two women.
It is learnt that the accused sold the plots at Rs 300 per sq mts. 
Police have also seized the car of the accused.
Kapileshwarkar had given a Power of Attorney to Rama Cuncolienkar as he was a family friend. Taking advantage of the Power of Attorney, he sold their two plots situated in Kavlem panchayat, between 2009 and 2016.
