PONDA: Three Ganesh Mandals in Ponda have reduced Ganesh festival celebration to one and a half days, consecutively for the second year to adhere by the SOPs. The pomp and glory of Sarvajanik Ganesh celebrations are dimmed nevertheless people are in complete festive mood who are conducting Ganesh pujas in the household.
People are in complete shopping spree at matoli bazaar and in Ponda market, buying decorative and other essential items since past two days ahead of Chaturthi celebration on September 10.
Massive traffic jams were witnessed in Ponda town as the crowd swells at Chaturthi Bazaar. Though COVID has hit every citizen, affected their income;
however it seemed to have not diffused the spirit of Ganesh festival and all are celebrating at their capacity.
