PONDA: The residents of Varkhandem area of Ponda have expressed strong resentment over roadside parking of trucks in the city in a dangerous manner, especially near Maruti Temple where roads are dug up for laying sewerage network. This is one of the busiest roads as Ponda-Panjim traffic proceeds on this road.
Pedestrian Suhas Naik said that trucks are parked in private property in such manner that a part of the truck is obstructing pedestrians.
The dangerous parking of trucks has caused huge cracks in the retaining wall and it may collapse any time injuring the pedestrians.
Locals fear that the parked trucks would collapse on road if the retaining wall collapses.
