Ponda samithi demands action against buses for making several halts

PONDA: Ponda Vikas Samithi on Monday submitted a memorandum to the  RTO Office at Ponda demanding for stringent action against the private buses for making several halts in the city thereby causing traffic congestion.   
Members Ram Kuncolienkar, Milind Madgut, Ghasnsham Naik,Rajesh Doifode and Saish Parwar met the Assistant Transport Officer Balchandra Sawant and submitted the memorandum demanding action against the buses proceeding from city in snails speed.  
 “There are only few bus stops in city for alighting and boarding, but the buses while departing from city bus stand proceeds at a slow speed to get more and more passengers by halting at several unauthorised bus stops,” Madgut said.  
 “There are only few bus stops in city at Tisk-Ponda, Upper Bazaar, Maruti Temple and near Vithoba Temple but the buses halt at several places,” he said.
He also said the token system implemented at Ponda RTO Office causes hardship to the locals and asked to improve the system and added that the staff in the office should also guide the visitors properly.
