PONDA: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Monday said that the work with regards to 15 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant for Ponda town is in final stage of completion and is likely to be operational by January 25.
Addressing the media persons, Pauskar said the work of the ramp/approach road of new Khandepar Bridge will commence within the next 15 days.

Official Pradeep Gaude claimed that almost 95 of the work has been completed.
Recently, Ponda locals slammed the authorities for the slow pace of work for the last five years which has caused great hardship to them on account of worst road conditions on account of digging. However, the Sewerage Department officials claimed that the work was pending for the past one year on account of basalt rock formation. Special drilling machinery has been procured from Mumbai and work to drill the basalt rock and to lay the pipeline is progressing.
The officials in a letter to Ponda residents provided a schedule for completing the pending work.
According to the schedule, the work on sewerage network at Indira Market and Varkhandem, Khadpaband, Civil Court to PWD Office Daag will be completed by December-end while the work from Saraswati Temple, Daag to Kapileshwarim junction, near sewerage treatment plant will be ready by January-end next year.
