PONDA: The Ponda Market Shed vendors have demanded that the sopo rates should either be levied at Rs 5 per sq mtr or a monthly sopo rate of Rs 100, which is similar to the decision taken for rehabilitated vendors in shops at the Market shed complex.
Expressing unhappiness over PMC’s decision on March 30, leader of the Ponda market shed Kishore Mamlekar told reporters that the sopo rates affixed by the PMC were higher than the shop rent.
According to Mamlekar, the PMC had adopted a resolution in its meeting on March 30.
