PONDA: Pondaites are fed up of rectifying mistakes done by operators while enrolling. Despite having proof of their resident address and birth certificates they are subjected to complicated procedure of rectifying Aadhaar card mistakes done by operators. A student at Kavlem asked PM Narendra Modhi to pay heed to the grievances of people against Aadhaar card rectification process.
Even after paying fee of Rs 100 there is no guarantee that Aadhaar card would be rectified in first attempt. The Aadhaar card operators say each time only one rectification can be done so the card holders have to visit and pay for every corrections. Some have to spend weeks to get a complete error free card. Ponda locals ask why locals have to suffer for mistakes done by operators.
They said that the migrant employees had committee so many mistakes that it is not possible to rectify at a time.
Pondaites demanded a permanent Aadhaar Card Centre at Ponda by deputing local Goan employees to rectify or preparing fresh Aadhaar cards for children. They also said incase of mistakes by operators the rectification in address including correction of name, mobile number, village name, date of birth should be done on same day. People are forced to run from pillar to post, waste time and also have to pay exorbitant fees for Aadhaar card correction. They demanded the Aadhaar card rectification job should be given to every panchayat.
