PONDA: The local residents of Ponda are upset over government not organising Carnival parade at Ponda and have demanded for the same.
Terming it as “injustice to the Pondaites”, the local residents questioned the authorities for not organising the carnival here this year, even though it has been done in the past. They also asked why Ponda was given a miss, whereas this mega event is being held at Panjim, Margao, Mapusa and Vasco.
John Pareira former Curti Khandepar Sarpanch said, “This is injustice to the minority community at Ponda. When new locations like Porvorim could be added, then why not Ponda?”
