Pondaites heave sigh of relief as hot mixing of roads begins

PONDA: After facing hardship for almost five years due to potholed-ridden roads, finally hot-mix carpeting of Ponda roads commenced in the presence of former MLA Ravi Naik.

Pondaites heave a huge sigh of relief as they suffered for almost five years due to riding/driving on the potholed-ridden bumpy roads and facing dust pollution. 

“The roads were dug on account of work progressing on laying of sewerage lines, manholes for 15 MLD Sewerage Treatment Project for Ponda town. The hot-mix carpeting of roads began from post office to Dhavlim, Varkhandem and will be completed in next few days,” said sources in the Ponda Municipal Council.

Locals recalled how they faced several health hazard including backache, neck and spondylosis problems and accidents on account of road digging every year for laying sewerage network line and manholes.
