PANJIM: The Principal District and Sessions Court, Panjim on Monday posted the Pooja Sharma anticipatory bail application matter for order at 2.30 pm on Wednesday, July 10.
On Monday, the Public Prosecutor (PP) Darshan Gawas representing the Crime Branch, pressed for custodial interrogation of Pooja Sharma in Assagao house demolition case. Raising objection over the manner in which the Assagao house was demolished, the public prosecutor highlighted that eviction of occupants of a house can be carried out only after court order.
The public prosecutor also brought to the notice of the Court that if the applicant was involved then why did she sent her representative to meet Agarwadekar family and compromise the matter.
Arguing on behalf of Sharma, senior advocate Surendra Desai asserted that there is no need of custodial interrogation and that she will present herself before the court whenever asked to do so.
Meanwhile, the government officials and panchayat members carried out joint inspection of the Agarwadekar house at Assagao on Monday. The report of the inspection will be placed before the Panchayat body on July 15, wherein the village panchayat will take a decisions whether or not to grant permission for repair of the demolished house.
A complaint had been filed at the Assagao panchayat on June 28. The complainants had asked the panchayat to refrain from giving any licences to the Agarwadekar family to repair the house. On June 29, the village panchayat adopted a resolution stating that a decision regarding the complaint be taken based on joint site inspection.
