BICHOLIM: The Bicholim Police arrested a 22-year-old youth from Poriem, Sattari, for allegedly raping a minor.
According to the police, the victim’s mother had lodged a complaint stating that accused Swapnil Mhalshekar, had allegedly raped her minor daughter on various occasions and also had allegedly damaged victim’s cell phone.
A case under Sections 376(2) (n) and 427 of IPC and under Section 4, 6 and 8 of POCSO Act has been registered against Mhalshekar.
The accused, a businessman by profession, was lodged at the police lock up at Bicholim.
