PORIEM: The Valpoi police on Thursday arrested a youth, on the charge of sexually assaulting and blackmailing a minor girl.
Police stated that the alleged accused identified as Krishna Rane from Poriem was also in possession of sexually explicit photographs of the victim. He allegedly threatened to post the content on social media and defame the girl and continued to abuse the teenager.
Unable to bear the trauma, the girl narrated the incident to the mother, who immediately lodged a police complaint.
A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of IPC and Valpoi police are conducting investigations.
