A part of the building at Bansai-Curchorem was demolished on Tuesday, following a compromise between the locals and the builder.
It may be recalled that since the last over 10 years, the locals had opposed the construction of the building as it allegedly interfered with the traditional pathway near the Ganpati temple, Curchorem.
The builder did not pay any heed to the opposition of the villagers and the locals were forced to knock the doors of the court. Finally, Curchorem MLA Shyam Satardekar was instrumental in reaching a compromise between the builder and the villagers.
However on Tuesday a part of the building was demolished with the help of JCB machine.
The area demarcated for parking was donated to the temple committee by the builder through a gift deed.
