MAPUSA: Porvorim Police busted an inter-State gang of thieves stealing vehicles and arrested four Rajasthan natives identified as Shrwan Kumar, 24 years old; Ram Jeevan (29), Arvind Kumar Bishnoi (32) and Krishna Kumar Mali (24).
According to the police, a complaint was filed by Ajit Basavraj Virji (50), resident of Bicholim, stating that some unknown person/s committed theft of his four-wheeler.
Acting on the complaint, the police under supervision of North Goa Superintendent of Police Shobit Saxena (IPS), formed a team to solve the case and further verified CCTV footages on the route of Goa-Maharashtra extensively and identified the four-wheeler used by the accused persons for commission of the crime. Based on mobile’s technical surveillance, the accused persons were identified to be from Barmer District of Rajasthan.
Accordingly, a team of Porvorim Police Station proceeded to Rajasthan from where it was revealed that the accused persons were again found moving in Gujarat. Further, the Porvorim Police while chasing the accused persons established contact with the Surat Crime Branch and in a joint operation nabbed the accused persons at Kamrej, Surat in Gujarat.
The accused persons are placed under arrest under Section 379 of IPC. Later, they were produced before the local court and remanded to seven days police custody.
