PANJIM: Putting up a joint fight for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections, former minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Monday announced that he would tie-up with Goa Forward Party (GFP) legislator Jayesh Salgaonkar in Succor Constituency for the March 22 elections.
Speaking to media, Khaunte said that he is also helping several like-minded candidates and supporters in the ZP elections to keep away the divisive politics of BJP.
Independent MLA had slammed BJP for reserving the Penha-de-Franca ZP Constituency for Other Backward Class for the third consecutive term. “BJP is used to do destructive politics. When you are involved in destructive politics, you are bound to be destroying the areas. But we are not going to allow this,” he said.
Former minister said that to defeat the destructive politics of BJP, the like-minded people and the Opposition will have to come together and fight the ZP elections.
