In a coordinated operation
with Surat counterparts, Porvorim Police arrested four vehicle thieves, hailing
from Bukarpura Rajasthan. The accused had stolen a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle
from Sangolda Goa worth Rs 10 lakh. The Goa Police first went to Rajasthan and
then contacted Surat police who nabbed them in Gujarat.
After their arrest, the
thieves confessed that they had sold the vehicles to drug peddlers and those
smuggling liquor in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The hunt for the stolen vehicles is
still on.
