PANJIM: Porvorim Police on Tuesday arrested Reshma Mannu Kumar Gupta (26) from Bastora, Bardez in connection with the prostitution racket busted last month in Porvorim.
According to Porvorim Police, the lady pimp, absconding since June 4, 2016, was involved in supplying girls to high profile customers in the beach belt. Police said Gupta is a native of West Bengal and is temporarily residing in Goa.
Soon after the raid Gupta had applied for anticipatory bail, however, it was rejected and since then she had been evading arrest.
Porvorim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi said his team was tracking Gupta since May 21 but she evaded the police by changing her phone numbers and residence. He said that based on information and intelligence they raided the place where she was residing temporarily and arrested her.
Police said Gupta is a habitual offender and was earlier booked under the Immoral Trafficking Act by Anjuna Police.
