Porvorim Police Station Registers FIR After ₹1.95 Lakh Mistakenly Credited to MP Account; Accused Withdrew ₹89,108

Porvorim Police have registered a case following a complaint lodged by Shreyas D’Silva, Under Secretary in the General Administration Department, after a total of ₹1,95,020 was allegedly credited by mistake to a bank account in Madhya Pradesh.

According to police sources, two amounts — ₹1,62,125 and ₹32,895 — were wrongly transferred to a Bank of Baroda account in MP. The account is reportedly held by one Raju Bhuriya.

It is alleged that Bhuriya withdrew ₹89,108 from the account after the funds were credited. Despite being informed about the erroneous transaction, he allegedly refused to return the withdrawn amount.

Based on the complaint, Porvorim Police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities are looking into how the incorrect transfer occurred and are taking steps to recover the withdrawn funds.

Further investigation is in progress.
