MAPUSA: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte mentored Porvorim Rising started providing COVID ASSIST ambulance to Porvorim Health Centre to cut down the time on transporting Porvorim-based patients from their residences.
Khaunte handed over the vehicle to Health Officer which will be available for the people from Porvorim with a driver from Health Department. Khaunte said that the COVID-19 positive cases in Porvorim area increasing alarmingly due to which the health center and its infrastructure are loaded with work.
Khaunte pointed out that the Health Centre had carried out testing and vaccination in the area due to which people fear that the virus spread fast. Khaunte appreciated the efforts of the Health Officer, who is working overtime to control the pandemic situation. “There is need for improvements but this is not
the right time to get indulged in the blame game,” Khaute said.
Referring to his interaction with the CM, Khaunte said that he has asked Chief Minister to initiate a programme with the involvement of Deputy Collector and Health Officers that can micro-manage the pandemic situation at every panchayat level.
