PONDA: The potholes on Borim bridge have resurfaced again hampering traffic movement and posing risks to commuters.
Regular commuters along the route say that crater sized potholes on the bridge are a regular feature here.
Locals allege the potholes have been developed on account of the hasty repair work that was done which was washed away with the rains.
“PWD workers have repaired the potholes several times. However, the rubble is washed off with the rain and the situation is back to square one,” said commuters.
This bridge is the only connecting link between Ponda and Salcette and there is a heavy flow of traffic here. The bridge is extremely old and weak with locals constantly demanding for a new one.
The PWD had completed the process to build a new bridge parallel to the old one and the actual work is yet to begin.
