PANJIM: Ahead of the Budget session, Electricity Department has urged Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to make budgetary provisions to create related infrastructure.
“Rs 1600 crore projects have been estimated for creation of infrastructure. This year we would require Rs 400 crore. We have informed the CM to make provisions in the budget so that we can achieve this requirement,” Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar said.
He said the department would upgrade major sub stations in Verna, Tuem, Saligao and Kadamba through which a ring system will be developed that will help switching power supply to sub stations where there is power shortage .
The department has issued a circular that the meter reader will be held responsible if any premises does not receive an electricity bill for three months.
