PANJIM: In an official note of gratitude, the Chief Electrical Engineer (CEE) has thanked the Electricity Department staff for working 24/7 to restore power supply.
The State Power Department on Monday gave a break up about how much work was completed in the first three days. The department also stated that it has completed 100 per cent repair works in the shortest possible time
Earlier, the department took to Twitter sharing pictures of the works undertaken by its staff.
“Few moments of the tireless efforts unseen & untold that helped achieve 100% supply to all in the shortest possible time against all odds. We continue to pursue to give the best services to our consumers,” reads the tweet.
In the official note of gratitude, CEE Raghuvir G Keni referred to how Cyclone Tauktae which hit Goa on May 16, had left a trail of destruction, particularly for the Power Department and landing the State into a power crisis.
“The scale of destruction and challenges to restore the infrastructure made the restoration task daunting but the Power Department exhibited strong will power to overcome the adversities,” said Keni.
“Under the leadership of Superintending Engineer (Circle 1), Superintending Engineer (Circle 11) and strong support from Superintending Engineer (Planning), Superintending Engineer (Commercial), Central stores and MRT divisions, engineers at all levels and the field staff along with our contractors, performed a commendable job of restoring power supply to 70% of the affected areas within 48 hours and almost 96% in 72 hours,” Keni added.
“I express my gratitude to the entire staff of the Power Department for working tirelessly day and night with dedication to restore power supply. Once again, I thank every employee of the Power Department for the excellent work. Let us keep up the good work and set new benchmarks for the future. For achievers, the bar is only raised. God bless you and your families,” Keni added.
