PORVORIM: Frequent disruption of power supply on Monday evening irked the consumers in many parts of Porvorim.
Residents complained that power supply was tripping off every 5 to 10 minutes, disrupting normal life in the area and angering the affected residents.
The office of the Electricity department was flooded with enquiries and when the consumers failed to get any satisfactory reply from the Electricity department, they contacted the media houses with their complaints.
Speaking to Herald, some consumers vented their anger saying that the Electricity department has been taking consumers for granted. “They don’t even bother to inform the public through electronic or print media about planned maintenance works,” complained a consumer from PDA colony.
When contacted, sources at Porvorim power sub-station informed that they have decided to take up the services of main transformer on Tuesday and hence the load was being shifted to another transformer.
