Power minister makes CM a puppet: Milind still refuses to recruit Executive Engineers

Power Minister still refuses to let go of illegally captured file clearing recruitment of Executive Engineers selected directly though the public service commission; scoffs at CM’s directive to clear appointments which will lapse on November 28

PANJIM: Power Minister Milind Naik has made CM Laxmikant Parsekar look like a puppet. 22 days after Herald exposed how Naik had illegally held on the file in which key recruitment of Executive Engineers were cleared by the Chief Minister, the Power Minister continues to defy the CM.
Surprisingly Chief Minister Parsekar, inspite of his strong words on how he would clear the appointments, has not managed to convey his bravado into executive action. Since the selection of five of these candidates took place on November 28, 2014, they will be valid only till November 28, 2015 a per GPSC rules. Speaking to Herald, a couple of days ago, CM Parsekar said “I will speak to him (Power Minister) in a day or two and get the appointments cleared I will make sure that the five candidates are given the orders in time.” That gives him exactly two working days from today (Thursday)”. So you can imagine how tight the situation is.
Sources in the department say, the despite reminders by the Chief Minister’s office and the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC), the file hasn’t been sent back.
“The recommendations of the GPSC lapses on November 28 and if the orders are not issued by that date the entire process has to be redone,” sources said.
Clearly, Milind Naik seems to have won this power trip, at least till now.
