MARGAO: Power Minister, Milind Naik has said that the power situation in the state would soon improve with the Centre promising to help the Goa government in the power scenario.
During an informal chat with newsmen during his visit to Balli, Milind said he along with Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar had recently briefed the Centre on the power situation in the state. “The Centre has assured the government to fund various infrastructural needs in the state,” Milind said, adding that the power situation has improved tremendously in the State in the last six months.
“Because of Diwali and Christmas, there may have been additional consumption of power,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Power Minister said absenteeism in the department will improve only if the employees think that they are employed and working for someone in lieu of salary. “If everyone thinks that he is being paid for the job he is doing, the situation will improve,” he said, while asking the media to cite specific complaints in order to initiate action against erring officials.
