CANACONA: Pramod Faldesai and Shilpa Pagi were elected as sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of Agonda panchayat.
The election was necessitated as the group led by Pramod had submitted a no-confidence motion against the outgoing sarpanch Abel Borges and his deputy Mandira Velip, 15 days ago.
Since Abel, Mandira and Tipu Pagi abstained from the election proceedings, the presiding officer from the Canacona BDO office declared Pramod and Shilpa elected for the posts of sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of the Agonda panchayat. Pramod and Shilpa received support of Barsat Naikgaonkar and Badal Naikgaonkar in the 7 member panchayat.
