An avid viewer of TV crime serials, Pratima had reportedly also referred to different books on crime, as a police team found those books during a raid in the house.
The claim that she had sprinkled chilli powder on the floor to prevent police sniffer dogs from getting leads into the case is also believed to have been picked up from crime books or crime serials.
Pratima is presently undergoing custodial interrogation by the SIT sleuths.
When contacted, IGP Sunil Garg said “An accused always challenges the confession since we record the statement under Section 161 CrPC, which can be challenged even in the court. But we have gathered concrete evidence which will prove her guilt in the court,” said Garg.
