PANJIM: Prof Pravin K Verekar has completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore under the guidance of Prof Jaywant H Arakeri. The title of the thesis is ‘Experiments on rolling sphere submerged in an incompressible fluid.’ Flow visualizations and particle image velocimetry experiments were conducted using Argon-ion continuous laser and high speed digital camera. This study is important in two-phase flows, sediment transport, etc. Prof Verekar is presently working at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.
